Legoman - Lego Neo

This is Lego Neo. After making Legoman, Neo was my first priority,
as in the first character that I just knew I had to recreate. A
couple of years ago, from not long before to not long after the
release of Reloaded, there was a guy called sWoosH on the Zion Switchboard
forums, and he made an animation of the burly brawl using 3D modeled
Lego characters. I loved that animation and it was one of my inspirations
for everything I've done with Legoman. So it's not exactly an original
idea but it's a classic one, it never gets old. Not to me anyway.

This is just another image like
above but with Lego Neo in his outfit from the first movie
and holding a couple of MP5Ks, the first guns that Neo uses
in the goverment lobby scene in the first movie. |

This image is based on the bullettime
scene between Neo and Agent Smith at the start of the subway
scene in the first movie. It took me a while to get them both
positioned right and everything but I think it turned out
well :-) |

This image is a recreation of
the DVD/VHS cover of the first movie. Simple as that. The
only thing is that I haven't had a chance to put my model
of a Beretta 9mm into Morpheus and Trinitys hands. Plus theres
no Cypher, but oh well. |

Now this image was inspired by
sWoosH and his burly brawl animation. The BB is my favourite
scene in the movie and I had to recreate at least part of
it. So here it is, Neo tripping up the Agent Smith copies
with the pole. |

I just decided to do this image
one day after watching the SBB. That scene finished The Matrix
Trilogy so I had to make at least one image of it. To do it
I just made a simple street model, populated it with loads
of Lego Agent Smiths and put Lego Neo and the central Smith
standing in the middle of the road. The lighting is from the
street lamps to show the Smiths on the side of the road, and
2 distant lights (acting as the lightning) at each end of
the street to highlight the 2 central characters. I couldn't
just leave it after rendering it though because one main thing
about the SBB is the rain. Now I don't know how to model that,
so I put an image of the Matrix code over the whole thing
in Photoshop and blended it together. I think it's a good
effect and makes the world of difference compared to how it
looked before it was added. |
