My Portfolio - 2D Imagery - The Animatrix

These images have all been drawn in Illustrator. I used the original images as reference but what you see here is 100% my own work. I haven't taken any parts from the original images, it's all my own work. There will definately be more pics to come but for now I hope you enjoy these :-)

Yesterday it was a choice between making this image or the Agent and I ended up making the Agent, but I knew that the next one I made would be this. Again it's from World Record, not my fave episode as I said above but I like the style and I like this image. It shows the main character becoming aware of the Matrix and awakening in the real world, it's cool.

Most of the pic was quite easy to make but the background was a bit harder because I didn't fill in the black colour, instead I had the whole rectangle shape of the image black in the back and just made the red and pink bits. That made it a tiny bit harder because I had to make sure the red and pink met seamlessly and didnt go over the black at all. I think I achieved it and I think the whole picture is cool.

This pic was a follow on from the above image. After creating the other pic I had a hunger for more, I wanted to start another so I went to the official Animatrix website and found this image. It's taken form the episode, World Record and it's of one of the Agents. It's not my favourite Animatrix episode but it's the same style as Program so I like that about it.

Like the previous pic I found it quite easy to recreate. At first I had no idea how I would do the mist but I got around the problem simply in the end by just making the shapes and adding a gaussian blur to them. I like the image, and I enjoyed making it.

This image is taken from the episode, Program. It's my one of my favourite Animatrix episodes along with Final Flight Of The Osiris and I love the style of the animation, the drawing.

I decided to have a go at making this pic after I spent a couple of days working on Simpsons and Futurama pics in Illustrator. The Simpsons and Futurama pics were too easy to do and I needed something a bit harder to work on so I found this image on a CD with other images I used for my final project for college and it was exactly the kind of pic I needed to challenge myself. I thought it would be hard to do and wouold challenge me a bit too much but when I started I found it kind of easy, and I think I've done quite a good job at recreating it. I like it.
