August 2004 - Version 1

Back in august 2004 I decided to make a site for my work etc. and this was what came out, the way the site looked at the dawn of man. It's not the greatest look but I don't think its the worst either. When I made it I wasn't exactly new to the world of web-design, or Photoshop either, so I was able to come up with some maybe half-decent stuff.

The background image is an old image I made in Photoshop, using filters and stuff, which I really like so I thought it'd make a good background for the site. I think it was a good start for the site, it didn't look half bad.

December 2004 - Version 2

This version of the site was just me taking an opportunity to re-design the site using my newly created Legoman 3D model. The design is mainly based around the Matrix (the code in the background) because I wanted to use Matrix themed Legomen for the images.

To be honest, I don't think it was the best look for the site. Looking back now I can see that the previous design was better, but I wanted to show off Legoman (which I can see now wasn't an amazing model either) so I kept the look. It didn't stay for long though ...

February 2005 - Version 3

And cue another not so great re-design. I wanted to change the previous look of the site so I made this. Ok so not great but the idea wasn't half bad. I wanted to show my new, more posable, Legoman 3D model, and this was a good way of doing that.

The whole thing wasn't really great because the menu was in a limited space which couldn't be expanded, much like the rest of it. Again, I can see now that the model wasn't great and neither was the whole design so along came another re-design ...

April 2005 - Version 4 (Current)

You probably recognise this because as you can see its what the site currently looks like, its current design and I think the best one I've made so far. It's a relatively simple design and probably the best to be able to show my kind of design taste, simple, clean lines and block colours (even if it is just black and white with a bit of grey).

I think its also the best for adding to, whether it be an extra section or just messing about with the images on the menus, it can be done without having to stop and think about what impact its going to have on the way the site will look in the end. It can be edited and expanded with ease.

I don't think I've ever actually got tired of it either. It's been the look of the site for over a year and its still looking as good as it did back then, even if I do say so myself. I don't think it'll be changed for a while to come either. I'll probably look into creating alternative designs/layouts which can be swapped with PHP or something but I think this design is here for the long run.

What do you guys, my precious visitors, think about the current design? If you think its great as it is or if you prefer one of the others on this page then please email me your opinions, I read every single piece of feedback and I'll take all of your views into consideration. Thank you.

June 2006 - Version 5

Speaking of alternative designs, this is one of em. it's totally different to any of the other designs. its got bright vibrant colours whereas most of the others are dark, usually black, white & grey. Its different but because of that I really like it.

I don't know if I can actually implement it into the site, for it to be swappable with the current design, but I'm definately going to keep it in mind for the future.
