My Portfolio - 2D Imagery - Batman Begins

After seeing the new Batman Begins trailer at the cinema when I went to see Sin City on thursday (9th June 2005), I thought I'd make something to put on my desktop for wallpaper. I decided to make this bat in Illustrator and I've implemented it into a few wallpapers so far.
I took the bat design from the movies logo which is a bat unsurprisingly. I had a look at the logo and just reproduced it the best I could. To be honest I think I've done quite a good job of it.
By the way, the white stroke is only there in this image because the bat wouldn't stand out if it was just the black on the grey background.

I made this wallpaper because after I'd created the bat logo I wanted to implement it into something I could put onto my desktop. This idea came into my head and I don't think it was a bad idea. The image of Batman unfortunately isn't that good. I wasn't on the internet at the time so I had no means of getting decent images, so instead I decided to scan this image in from a HMV competition leaflet. I haven't really got a great scanner so it didn't scan in that well. I don't think it's a bad wallpaper though, I like the idea behind it. Unfortunately the bat has only survived as my wallpaper for one day, I swapped it for an image of my 3D model of Bender. |
